How to Style a Shacket this Winter
Shackets, or shirt jackets, first made their splash on the scene last fall and they’re back again for round 2. As someone who loves to throw on a flannel as soon as the temperature drops, I was an immediate fan of the trend. Often coming in bold plaids, they are an easy way to upgrade almost any casual outfit and make it look like you tried way more than you did. If you want to get in on the trend or are stumped on how you could incorporate it into your wardrobe, below are 5 easy ways to style as well as shopping links!
With a Sweatsuit
A shacket is the perfect upgrade to a casual sweatsuit moment. Keep the sweatsuit simple with a neutral (i.e. gray, navy, tan, or black) and let the shacket be the statement piece of the outfit.
2. With a T-shirt + Jeans
A plain tee and blue jeans are a tried and true classic so it’s no surprise it looks this good when paired with a shacket. With this combo, I’d recommend a shorter shacket as pictured that hits around the upper thigh. Finish the look with sneakers that match back to the shacket or some cute booties.
3. With a Monochromatic Look
A very chic reminder that solid shackets matter! This monochromatic neutral moment can be recreated with the neutral of your choice, whether it be a rich chocolate brown, camel tones, or a clean off-white.
4. With Leather Leggings
Leather leggings are a must-have for the season and add some dimension to your typical shacket outfit. For this look, I’d recommend a longer shacket that’s closer to knee-length for extra coverage and extra warmth. You can pair with a fitted turtleneck as shown or with a chunky sweater.
5. With a Sweater Dress
Shackets tend to give off more casual vibes so I love this dressed up option with a sweater dress and knee-high boots. For this pairing, opt for a midi or maxi length with the dress and a shacket that’s at least knee-length. You can keep the outfit to a single color palette or switch it up so that either the dress or the shacket is the statement piece of the outfit.
