ELEVATED SWEATS
Being a Florida girl blessed with year-round warmth, sweats never entered my wardrobe till I went to school in Missouri and discovered this thing called seasons. Ever since then, sweatpants have become my ultimate comfort piece and a key fall essential. Since they usually look too lax for most occasions, I’ve found a few hacks to finesse the system and elevate your fave tracksuit/sweats into everyday looks that are chic af.
How To Style Sweatpants
1. An oversized button-down. The tailoring and business feel of the top perfectly contrasts with the lax nature of the sweats to create a thoughtfully thrown together look.
2. A feminine blouse with soft detailing (ruffles, bows, etc). Mixing pretty detailing with the sportiness of the track pant keeps the look dynamic yet easy. I love topping off the outfit with structured outerwear like an oversized blazer or leather moto jacket.
3. A relaxed fit sweater with a clean, simple aesthetic. The embellishment on this one dresses up the fit and makes the ensemble more polished without compromising comfort. ***Don’t forget to play around with shoe options! Instead of sneakers, try pairing sweats with a kitten heel pump or block heel bootie to immediately level up the look.
How To Style Sweatshirts & Hoodies
The easiest way to elevate an oversized hoodie or sweatshirt is to pair with a midi or maxi skirt. With skirts you want to choose something that contrasts with the casual feel of your hoodie. You can go edgy with a leather number or pretty with a satin slip or drapey floral. Finish the look with heeled sandals, pointed toe booties or a simple pair of sneakers. ***Pro Tip: If you have limited skirt options, you can layer over a midi or maxi dress for a similar effect!***

For a comfy look that still looks polished, pair your track pants with a blouse that’s in a soft fabric and has a roomy fit. With longer tops, do a front tuck and let the back hang loose. Finish the ensemb with bold booties, gold accessories and a mini bag.
Shirt Dress + Sweatpants: Uniqlo | Shoes: Nine West
UNIQLO on the top and bottom because they’re my go-to for all of my comfy faves. I discovered their sweatpants right after moving to the city five years ago and copping a new pair is still the highlight of my fall shopping trips. The top is a flannel shirt dress you can wear solo as a dress or as an overlayer with a top + bottom or a more fitted dress underneath.
