CAMP-COLLAR SHIRTS
It’s been a minute but we’re back to menswear this week! I usually dabble in the men’s section for cozy outerwear but lately, these camp-collar shirts are what I’m swooning over. These are few of my fave styling takes from the Spring ‘19 and ‘20 menswear shows. Keep reading for more ~campy~ content to inspire y’all to make this your new closet staple for all seasons.
A camp-collar shirt with shorts, lowtop sneakers and crew socks is one of my fave combos and also one of the easiest to pull off. For the shorts, choose a pair that hits a few inches above the knee (or higher, if you’re trynna live your best hot boy summer life!) in a solid color that complements the print of your camp shirt. A running short, nylon short, or a slim-fit denim short all pair well with the loose fit of a camp shirt. Keep the kicks simple and add some sauce to the look with a cap or a fanny pack.
Another winning look is pairing your camp shirt with trousers, a tee and lowtop kicks or loafers. My fave thing about camp-collar shirts are that they come in the coolest prints. Since they can be paired with almost any solid trouser (slim or straight leg) you already have in your closet, it’s an easy way to add more prints into your rotation without all the effort. You can layer a white tank/crewneck tee underneath like the fellas here or get in your Miami Vice bag and let the chest out a bit with the top buttons unbuttoned. Finish the fit with lowtop sneakers for a polished casual look or loafers for something more refined.

For that fall transition, cop a long-sleeve camp shirt and pair with track pants that taper in at the leg and sneakers. Since camp shirts have a lower cut neckline, they’re perfect for upping your jewelry game and adding a chain or two.

My best shopping tip is to ALWAYS take a lap through the men’s section. Spotted this shirt on sale in the men’s section of Gap and it’s by far my fave purchase of the year. My love affair with camp-collar shirts is still going strong and can’t wait to style them into fall.
